Job summary

Austin Industrial in Clear Lake, TX is seeking an I&E Technician responsible for custody transfer, instrument troubleshooting, and pipeline system maintenance. This role requires 3-5 years of instrument experience and the ability to work overtime, with strong knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices.

You will install, calibrate, and test instrumentation, support startup/shutdown activities, and maintain detailed maintenance records per industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years instrument experience following journey level status.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electrical drawings and industry switching practices.
• Willing and able to provide overtime coverage.

Responsibilities

• Install, layout, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Diagnose electrical and instrumentation failures using testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, loop drawings, technical manuals, and work orders.
• Test, calibrate, install, and inspect instrumentation devices including transmitters, valves, and analytical instruments.
• Calibrate equipment using standard procedures and specifications.
• Conduct system inspections and identify reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical control systems including MCCs, transformers, switchgear, bus bars, motors, and panel wiring.
• Assist with equipment installations, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
• Follow all plant safety procedures including LOTO, electrical safety, and confined space requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
