Job summary

Bakelite is hiring an Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems in our North Carolina chemical manufacturing environment. The role supports safe, reliable plant operations and requires knowledge of electrical distribution, instrumentation, and control systems.

You will work with the maintenance and operations teams, perform preventive maintenance, interpret schematics, and participate in safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in an industrial manufacturing I&E role.
• Experience with chemical or continuous process environments preferred.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot electrical equipment and instrumentation.
• Maintain plant process control systems (DCS/PLC/HMI) and perform loop checks.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements are met.
• Document work and communicate troubleshooting steps with operations and maintenance teams.
