Job summary

Clean Harbors in Utah is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to perform hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC logic programming, while diagnosing control circuitry issues and assisting the electrical and maintenance teams.

You'll gain hands-on experience with industrial controls, install power wiring and motor control centers, and participate in safety-first practices within a stable, essential industry with opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3–5+ years in oil, refinery, chemical, or steel mill experience preferred.
• Instrumentation and/or electrical training or degree preferred.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Experience with electrical and instrumentation work including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions.
• Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations.
• Installs new system controls and power wiring.
• Installs cabling, power distribution, and motor control centers.
• Services and replaces motors and lighting.
• Performs general electrical maintenance.
• Maintains accurate records and logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands‑on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Logic programming, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed.

• 4-DAY WEEK – DAY SHIFT
