Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to perform hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC logic programming while diagnosing control circuitry issues. You will support electrical and maintenance teams with various tasks in an essential industry.

The role offers a 4-day work week on the day shift with a strong path for technical growth, paid training, and opportunities to gain exposure to diverse equipment and industrial controls.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting instruments and control malfunctions.
• Capable of diagnosing mechanical issues and electrical problems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
• Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Job description

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands‑on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Logic programming, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions
• Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations
• Maintains accurate records and logs as required
• Installs new system controls (including power wiring)
• Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers
• Services and replaces motors and lighting
• Performs general electrical maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5+ years of oil, refinery, chemical, or steel mill experience preferred
• Instrument and/or electrical training or degree preferred
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and how to diagnose mechanical issues
• Working expereince with electrical and instrumentation work including troubleshhoting, diagnosing, preventive maintenance
• Ability to work a rotating shift and overtime as needed
