Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to perform hands‑on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC logic programming, while diagnosing control circuitry issues. The role supports electrical and maintenance departments in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5+ years of oil, refinery, chemical, or steel mill experience preferred
• Instrument and/or electrical training or degree preferred
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and how to diagnose mechanical issues
• Experience with electrical and instrumentation work including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and preventive maintenance
• Ability to work a rotating shift and overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by following safe work practices and policies
• Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions
• Performs preventive maintenance checks and calibrations
• Maintains accurate records and logs as required
• Installs new system controls (including power wiring)
• Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers
• Services and replaces motors and lighting
• Performs general electrical maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands‑on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Logic programming, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed.

• 4-DAY WEEK - DAY SHIFT
• Vanpool/shuttle - Grantsville, Tooele, Magna, Salt Lake City (near Sutherlands on Redwood Road)
