We are seeking an experienced I&E Planner to join our Capital Projects group in Baytown, TX. This long-term role is responsible for developing comprehensive work packages, job plans, estimates, and execution strategies for Instrumentation and Electrical scope across capital growth and site improvement projects.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in both low/medium voltage electrical systems and process instrumentation, alongside strong hands‑on experience planning within major industrial plant capital project environments.
Work Package Development: Build detailed I&E planning packages for capital projects, including safety plans, material requisitions, scope step‑outs, skill/craft requirements, and job duration estimates.
Field Walkdowns: Conduct thorough field walkdowns to verify job scope, identify interferences, determine tie‑in points, and review P&IDs, single‑line diagrams, loop sheets, and schematic drawings.
Material & Equipment Coordination: Identify required materials, specialty tools, and long‑lead items; coordinate procurement and staged delivery to support execution schedules.
Systems Utilization: Leverage CMMS (SAP) and scheduling tools (Primavera P6) to build task lists, track work orders, alignment logic, and project milestones.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with project engineers, construction management, operations, and discipline supervisors to ensure seamless project integration and outage alignment.
Experience: Minimum 5–8+ years of I&E planning experience in heavy industrial facilities (chemical, petrochemical, or refining preferred) with a strong emphasis on Capital Projects.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of both Electrical (distribution, switchgear, motors, MCCs) and Instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, DCS/PLC I/O, loop checks).
Software Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with SAP (Work Management/PM modules) and Primavera P6 is highly preferred.
Documentation: Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, vendor drawings, and constructability specs.
Schedule & Location: Must be willing to work a 4×10 schedule in Baytown, TX, with flexibility for overtime during project execution or turnaround windows.
