Koch Fertilizer in Wever, Iowa, seeks an Instrumentation & Electrical Planner to coordinate maintenance and outages, ensuring safe, reliable plant operations. You will partner with I&E technicians, operations, and contractors to plan, estimate, and execute work across turnarounds.

The role offers growth into advanced planning, exposure to Maximo/Procore, and a path to expanded responsibilities within our maintenance organization and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience developing industrial maintenance work packages.
• Experience with instrumentation, electrical systems, and/or mechanical maintenance including calibration, testing, troubleshooting, or installation.
• Experience communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Exposure to reading and interpreting technical documents (P&IDs, schematics) and translating them into executable work plans.
• Willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Plan and estimate I&E maintenance activities using equipment history, subject matter expertise, and proven planning methods
• Apply codes, standards, and reliability strategies to support safe and efficient execution of work
• Build detailed job packages in systems such as Maximo and Procore/ACC for daily work, outages, and turnarounds, including scope, duration, and materials
• Conduct field job package walkdowns with internal teams and contractors to validate plans and align on execution expectations
• Support the integration of outage work into prioritized and optimized schedules
• Review post-job results to identify improvement opportunities and enhance planning effectiveness
• Develop preventative maintenance plans that improve plant reliability
• Coordinate and manage contractor work during outages
• Train and mentor maintenance team members on planning processes and outage support roles
• Identify and drive continuous improvement through technology adoption and new ways of working
• Ensure strong adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices in all planning activities
