Job summary

Stepan Company in Pasadena, TX seeks an Electrical/Instrument (E&I) Engineer to provide instrument, electrical, and technical support for stable operations and continuous improvement in day-to-day plant safety and reliability.

The role partners with operations and maintenance to prioritize tasks, develops preventive/predictive maintenance, and supports capital improvements while ensuring RCFA/MTBF-driven improvements and RC-14001 compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PLCs, ladder logic, I/O and VFDs.
• Knowledge of ISA, IEEE, NFPA, PM/PdM activities and related standards.
• Experience interfacing with smart field devices.
• Ability to analyze, solve problems and identify root causes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Provide field support for installation of instrumentation and power systems.
• Develop maintenance practices for equipment lifecycle and reliability.
• Coordinate outside services for specialized work.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
• Oversee utilization of E&I maintenance contractors.
• Support capital improvement initiatives and RCFA/MTBF processes.
