Job summary

Stepan Company in Millsdale, IL is seeking an E&I Engineer with a reliability focus to own the site electrical systems, drive uptime, and lead root‑cause problem solving.

This on‑site role serves as the technical authority for plant electrical systems, directing maintenance and reliability improvements while ensuring safe, efficient operations. You will collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to deliver lasting solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in E&I, electrical, or reliability roles.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years or Associate/Technical Degree with 7+ years in E&I, electrical, or reliability roles.
• ISA or EPRI Instrumentation Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own performance of medium & low voltage systems across the site.
• Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and eliminate repeat issues.
• Drive preventive & predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) strategies.
• Support capital projects (design review, equipment selection, scoping).
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, and hazardous area standards.
• Develop and maintain one‑lines, schematics, and electrical documentation.
