Job summary

Fervo is seeking an I&C Operations Engineer to own the reliability and performance of Cape Station's control systems. You’ll lead RCA/AARs, manage instrumentation calibration, and drive SCADA development, ensuring 24/7 uptime and scalable automation.

You will coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering, defending robust I&C standards and rapid problem resolution in a high-demand geothermal environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5+ years in I&C engineering at operating industrial or power facilities.
• Hands-on with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA, including HMI and historian integration.
• Know-how of Modbus TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, and OPC-UA.
• Experience with field instrumentation calibration and loop checks.
• Familiarity with MOC, PHA/HAZOP, and PSSR processes.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own site I&C reliability and control system ownership.
• Lead RCA/AARs for control system faults and tracking corrective actions.
• Define preventive maintenance for instrumentation and control assets.
• Develop and maintain I&C documentation and drawings.
• Own Cape Station Ignition SCADA app, alarms, and reporting.
• Configure field instrumentation, valves, and transmitters; support procurement.
• Support PLC programming changes and MOC approvals.
• Ensure OT cybersecurity alignment and regulatory compliance.
