Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead design and optimization of I&C systems for its geothermal power plants. You will apply first-principles analysis, mentor junior engineers, and drive standardization across projects.

This role covers control system architecture, PLC programming, SCADA, and field commissioning, with hybrid work and in-office presence at Reno or other sites as required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 9–12 years in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, ISA and related codes.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design control system architectures for 50 MW blocks.
• Develop Ignition SCADA applications and HMI screens.
• Program Rockwell PLCs and maintain shared libraries.
• Produce complete I&C drawing packages.
• Review P&IDs and instrument datasheets.
• Design control panels and coordinate fabrication.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks.
• Support field commissioning and SAT activities.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
