Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks an Instrumentation and Controls System Engineer within the System Engineering Group of the NNFD to design, install, upgrade, and maintain I&C systems for nuclear facilities.

The role supports operations through configuration management, maintenance, and system analysis, ensuring operability, safety, and compliance with nuclear quality requirements. Strong collaboration across operations, procurement, design, and crafts is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related with I&C experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in industrial/nuclear instrumentation and controls system engineering.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and develop formal instructions for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Configuration management of structures, systems, and components.
• Maintenance support including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• System analysis, evaluation of equipment performance, and compliance with safety and quality programs.
