Job summary

Eichleay is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to apply discipline knowledge across refinery and oil & gas projects. You will lead I&C efforts, develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and review documents for quality and conformance.

The role requires a BS in engineering (ABET) and at least 5 years in refinery/oil & gas. Hybrid work with on-site Ferndale, WA and remote days is offered, with travel to clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of refinery or oil&gas experience.
• Hybrid role: 3 days in Ferndale, WA and 2 days remote.
• Experience with instrument specification and datasheet creation.
• Familiarity with SIS design and related standards (ISA/ANSI/API/NFPA).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environmental issues and zero harm.
• Review project documents for conformity and QA.
• Support I&C engineering, drawings and construction work packages.
• Participate in HAZOP and LOPA reviews as needed.
• Prepare SIS lifecycle documentation when qualified.
• Size and select field instrumentation, flow meters, valves, PSVs with guidance.
• Respond to RFIs and develop technical specs for I&C equipment.
• Prepare material requisitions and evaluate vendor submittals.
• Provide man-hour estimates for proposals and takeoffs.
• Attend client and Eichleay project meetings.
• Maintain schedule and budget commitments.
• Ensure compliance with ISA/ANSI/API/NFPA standards.
• Support startup and client-site turnaround activities.
