Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Engineer I on the Advanced Reactors I&C team to support the system development lifecycle for I&C systems. The role reports to the Manager of Advanced Reactors I&C and is located at Cranberry Township, PA, with on-site presence 2-3 days per week.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and knowledge across PCB, FPGA, LabVIEW, and programming languages, with a base salary range of $58,400 to $73,000 per year.

• Familiarity with LabVIEW, C++, Java, Python, and embedded software.

Responsibilities

• Support customer offers for I&C system projects.
• Guide hardware and software design engineers for the I&C system.
• Develop test plans and execute testing per project needs.
• Assist in engineering review of system documentation.

About the role:

As an Engineer I on our Advanced Reactors I&C team, you will support the system development lifecycle for I&C systems based on functional, design, and regulatory requirements.

You will report to the Manager of Advanced Reactors I&C and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA facility. You will be required to be on site 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal cross functional groups and stake holders to ensure quality integration of the I&C system.
• Create functional logic diagrams.
• Support customer offer development for I&C system projects.
• Support Equipment Qualification (EMC, Environmental, Seismic) of an internally developed FPGA-based I&C platform.
• Provide guidance to hardware design engineers to develop the hardware design of the I&C system.
• Provide guidance to software design engineers to develop the software of the I&C system.
• Develop test plan and procedure documentation; execute testing based on project needs.
• Understand equipment qualification standards and interface with equipment qualification groups for qualification of the I&C system.
• Assist in engineering review of system documentation.
• Assist in board-level design, functional testing, and integration testing.
• Assist in application development based on system functional and design requirements specifications.

Qualifications:

• Completion of bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
• Knowledge of Printed Circuit Boards, Analog/Digital Circuit Design, and FPGA technology
• Knowledge of Labview, C++, Java, Python, embedded software
