Westinghouse Electric Company in Warrendale, PA invites you to join as an I&C Systems Engineer I, contributing to the design, analysis and support of safety-related Instrumentation and Control systems in a regulated engineering environment.

You will work with experienced engineers on documentation, system logic, reliability analysis and project support, in a hybrid schedule with no relocation assistance.

About The Role

As a I&C Systems Engineer I, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and support of safety-related Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems. This role is well suited for candidates with a strong technical background who are interested in applying analytical skills, structured problem-solving, and systems thinking in a regulated engineering environment.

You will gain hands-on experience working with engineering documentation, system logic, reliability analysis, and project support while collaborating with experienced engineers in a multidisciplinary team.

You will report to the Functional and System Engineering Manager and be based in the Warrendale, PA office on a hybrid schedule. No relocation assistance is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining system documentation, including functional logic diagrams, specifications, and design descriptions
• Support reliability and performance analyses using established tools (e.g., Reliability Workbench) and documented methodologies
• Analyze operational or field data, identify trends, and help prepare technical summaries and reports
• Collaborate with senior engineers to support troubleshooting, evaluations, and continuous improvement activities
• Participate in project coordination, scheduling, and configuration/document control activities
• Follow established safety, quality, and regulatory processes in a safety-critical environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and structured problem-solving to complex technical topics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document analyses and explain technical concepts
• Comfortable working with data, models, procedures, and technical tools
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Interest in or exposure to:
• Reliability, risk, or systems analysis
• Safety-critical, regulated, or industrial systems
• Control systems, instrumentation, or functional logic (training provided)

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
