Job summary

AECOM Water is actively seeking an Electrical Technician to join our busy Akron, OH team. This hands-on role performs instrumentation and controls maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.

Under supervision, you will develop expertise in instrumentation, control systems, Ethernet/fieldbus networks, device programming, and industrial automation technologies while working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma+ 2 years related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Valid US driver's license and must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
• Advanced I&C knowledge or electrical construction knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small team under superintendent and assist with training.
• Independently perform complex technical work using drawings, schematics, device documentation, meters, network analyzers, and other tools.
• Perform data entry, record keeping, as-built drawings, and project tasks.
• Demonstrate math skills including arithmetic, algebra, trig and signal conditioning calculations.
• Willingness to work outdoors at wastewater treatment facilities in all weather.
• Be trained and directed by I&C supervisor and engineer in I&C technology and repair.
• Learn and advance knowledge in control systems, Ethernet, fieldbus, and video systems.
• Advise and train other team members in specialized skills.
