Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in New Albany, OH, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Commissioning and Startup Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning for complex control systems in a large semiconductor facility.

The role involves leading system turnover, mentoring engineers, and ensuring safe, high-quality startup execution in collaboration with engineering, construction, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2–9 years of relevant experience in mission critical facilities or large EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning strategies, execution plans, test procedures, and work packages for complex I&C systems.
• Review engineering deliverables, control narratives, P&IDs, network drawings, instrument datasheets, and equipment docs.
• Lead turnover planning, system boundary development, and startup sequence development.
• Manage punch list and turnover from construction to commissioning.
• Lead commissioning, functional testing, loop checks, calibration, and startup activities for DCS, PLC, SCADA, BAS, LSS, valves, instruments, and analyzers.
• Coordinate OEM reps during startup and testing; interface with contractors and vendors; support client witnessing.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture and support LOTO and JHA reviews.
