Job summary

Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology in Houston, TX seeks a Control System Commissioning Specialist to lead DCS/PLC/BMS/SCADA commissioning for semiconductor and life sciences facilities. You will plan, coordinate, test, and validate systems to meet codes, standards, and client objectives, serving as the on-site technical lead and coordinating with engineering, vendors, and AHJs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years in the field.
Experience leading commissioning and start-up activities in industrial facilities.
Familiarity with life-safety systems, DCS/SCADA, and instrument control.
Ability to read P&ID diagrams, control schematics, and turnover documentation.

Responsibilities

Lead commissioning activities for life-safety and control systems from construction through startup.
Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
Direct loop checks, I/O verification, and system integration across I&C scope.
Coordinate with engineering, operations, AHJs, and vendors to resolve deficiencies.
Ensure NFPA, IBC, IFC compliance and proper project documentation.
