Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Houston seeks a Control System Commissioning Specialist to lead the on-site commissioning of DCS/PLC/BMS/SCADA/DeltaV systems for semiconductor fabrication and life sciences installations.

This role coordinates with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and AHJs to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance, delivering fully functional systems and complete turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with fire/life-safety systems in facilities.
• U.S. construction/installation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for fire and life safety systems from construction completion through startup and handover.
• Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Direct loop checks, I/O verification, and system integration.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and AHJs to resolve deficiencies.
• Ensure NFPA/IBC/IFC compliance and regulatory alignment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to commissioning personnel.
• Maintain turnover documentation and test records.
• Develop schedules, checklists, and test procedures.
• Enforce safety procedures during commissioning.
• Witness FATs and SATs as required.
