Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned specialty sales professional to drive market access and adoption of our therapies in hospital and health-network settings. You will engage clinicians, pharmacists, and administrators to understand needs and communicate value.

You have a track record of exceeding forecasts, navigating complex distribution/HUB services, and developing actionable business plans. Overnight travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years specialty sales experience, preferably rare disease/injectables.
  • Experience with complex distribution systems/HUB services.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments (startup experience preferred).
  • Proven track record navigating multiple stakeholders to gain approval and adoption.
  • Experience selling into hospitals/universities/health networks/large systems plus physician offices.
  • Specialty pharma or rare disease experience is a plus.
  • Strong relationship-building with pharmacists, hospital administrators, physicians.
  • Experience with patient services in distribution HUBs and specialty pharmacies.
  • Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Use product knowledge to engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
  • Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of local market/practice structures/business models and key influencers; routinely share insights with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with customers/accounts to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, network structure, customer needs, and identify business opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources effectively and ethically.
  • Work with leaders to develop a business plan to achieve goals and sales objectives; understand formulary approvals and other opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Ensure administrative excellence (work hours, sales call data, customer objective responses, sample/expense reporting, and other administrative items).

  • Experience in new product launches preferred.
  • Experience selling into hospitals/universities/health networks/large systems plus physician offices.
  • Specialty pharma or rare disease experience is a plus.
  • Track record navigating multiple stakeholders to gain approval and adoption.
  • Strong relationship-building (pharmacists, hospital administrators, physicians).

  • Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
