Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Keene, New Hampshire invites a summer engineering intern to join the Advanced Optics team, supporting the design, analysis and manufacturing of EO/IR and hyperspectral imaging systems.

You will develop tooling, testing approaches and instrumentation, collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineers on meaningful projects, with competitive pay and housing/travel assistance for a 10-week program May–August 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Optics, Electronics or related field with optics/imaging focus.
• Basic understanding of optical systems and imaging techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May–August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Interested in pursuing full-time opportunities at Corning after graduation.
• Willing to work at the posted job location.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, and manufacturing of EO/IR and hyperspectral imaging systems.
• Develop tooling, testing approaches, and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with the Advanced Optics engineering team.
• Contribute to project-specific experiments and prototypes.
