Job summary
Corning Incorporated, a world leader in glass, ceramic and materials science, seeks a summer engineering intern to join the Advanced Optics team. You will assist in the design, analysis and manufacturing of high-precision opto-mechanical systems and hyperspectral imaging instruments.
Pursuing an optics degree with exposure to optical metrology, you will gain hands-on experience, attend weekly tech talks, and contribute to meaningful projects while exploring full-time opportunities after
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Optics or related discipline with concentration in Optics or hyperspectral imaging.
- Basic understanding of optical systems and optical metrology.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Willing to work at the posted job location.
- Interest in pursuing full-time opportunities at Corning after graduation.
Responsibilities
- Primary duties will involve working within optical metrology team to design, engineer & build opto-mechanical systems and hyperspectral imaging systems including development of testing approach and instrumentation
