Job summary

Leidos seeks a Solid Propulsion Development Engineer to lead propulsion hardware design for a hypersonics vehicle and other programs. You will join a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team and interface with project teams and subcontractors to develop the solid propulsion system.

The role requires a bachelor's in ABET-accredited engineering, 4+ years in propulsion development or testing (2 years with a Master's), and the ability to communicate results through detailed technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering from ABET university.
• 4+ years in rocket propulsion development or test engineering; 2 years with a Master's.
• Experience with ground testing of solid propulsion systems.
• Ability to write clear, concise technical reports and present results.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of propulsion hardware.
• Design, build, and test prototype solid rocket motor components.
• Interface with propulsion system suppliers and other project teams.
