Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Sector in Huntsville, AL seeks a Flight Termination Engineer Lead to guide the Flight Termination System for the CHGB program. You will lead IPTs, drive technical reviews, and collaborate with government and industry partners to deliver critical hypersonic capabilities.

The role requires a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with extensive experience, strong schematic/diagram analysis, and proven qualification planning. DoD programs and security clearances are advantageous.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering (or MS in EE) with 8+ years of experience, or 12+ years in lieu of degree, or MS with 6+ years.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, cable/wiring diagrams and related work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide feedback to leadership.
• Rapid system-level integration and troubleshooting experience.
• Electronics integration, test and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in environmental testing of avionics.
• Experience writing qualification plans to RCC-319 and RCC-324 requirements.
• Experience with risk, issues, and/or opportunity management.
• Knowledge of test procedure development.
• Knowledge of circuit design - analog, digital, power.
• Ability to document designs, support Technical Data Packages (TDP) and assist production and test of avionics.
• Strong communication with government customer, industry partners, test and manufacturing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer and IPT Lead for the Flight Termination System.
• Lead technical reviews, failure investigations, supplier engagements, and cross-functional task teams.
• Assist in requirement decomposition.
• Interface with Range Commanders Council.
• Conduct non-conformance and root cause corrective action investigations.
