Job summary

CFD Research Corporation, based in Huntsville with Dayton facilities, seeks an engineer to advance multi-disciplinary analysis and optimization for hypersonic aerospace systems. The role emphasizes CFD-driven studies, aeroelasticity, and integration within MDAO workflows.

You will contribute to design exploration and performance improvements while supporting DoD projects. The candidate should have a Master’s in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong CFD

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen and eligible for security clearance.
• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis of missile or hypersonic systems.
• Experience with CFD tools (CFD++, STAR-CCM+, Kestrel).
• Strong CFD, grid generation, and hypersonic physics knowledge.
• Experience with multiphysics analysis and MDAO workflows (OpenMDAO).
• Proficiency in Python and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Apply modeling and simulation to multidisciplinary analysis for hypersonic systems.
• Develop and optimize CFD-based analyses to improve performance and resilience.
• Support delivery and deployment of modeling workflows to DoD customers.
• Collaborate with Air Force Research Laboratory on next-gen aerospace capabilities.
