Job summary

A leading technology solutions company is seeking a motivated R&D Scientist/Engineer with expertise in hypersonic computational fluid dynamics to support critical projects within the Department of War and Intelligence Community. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of hypersonic aerothermodynamics, project management experience, and proficiency in CFD modeling. This position offers a dynamic R&D environment where collaboration and innovation are highly valued. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in DoW or IC programs.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness to complete a CI Polygraph.
  • Strong knowledge of hypersonic aerothermodynamic phenomenology.
  • Proficiency in using high-fidelity CFD modeling applications.

Job description

Modern Technology Solutions Incorporated (MTSI) is seeking a motivated and skillful R&D Scientist/Engineer with expertise in hypersonic computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to support critical projects within the Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of hypersonic aerothermodynamics and related modeling techniques with a proven ability to model, simulate, and analyze hypersonic systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic R&D environment where innovation and collaboration are highly valued.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree (or Bachelor's degree with 4 years related experience) in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in DoW or IC programs
  • Active TS/SCI with willingness to complete a CI Polygraph
  • Strong knowledge of hypersonic aerothermodynamic phenomenology
  • Proficiency in using high-fidelity CFD modeling applications
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment
  • Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and departments, while also being self-sufficient when needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced experience in GEOINT processing research and development
  • Extensive experience with academic, government, or commercial CFD tools and workflows
  • Expertise in modeling and simulating advanced foreign weapon systems' aerodynamic performance and signatures
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the field
  • Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with coursework and/or research in the fields of hypersonics, physical gas dynamics, or numerical methods
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
