Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Test Engineer to develop, build, analyze and operate test assets for our hypersonic vehicles. You will own test facilities, fixtures and rigs, design supporting hardware, and develop test plans for hydraulic, fuel, electrical and airframe subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Experience owning a project through full lifecycle in aerospace/high-performance engineering.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, and mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, manufacture, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of test assets (including test facilities, fixtures and rigs).
• Design test fixtures, tooling, adapters, panels, and other supporting hardware for test rigs and test setups.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and protocols for a wide range of vehicle subsystems.
• Operate and troubleshoot a wide array of fluid and mechanical systems including pumps, motors, heat exchangers, high voltage components, test fixtures, tooling, standard fluid system components (valves, regulators, accumulators, tubing, fittings, etc).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and technicians, to ensure effective communication and alignment on testing requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and findings, and contribute to comprehensive technical reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, recommend innovative testing methods, and actively contribute to the enhancement of Hermeus's test infrastructure.
