Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer in Bohemia, NY to lead and perform hands-on engineering—from design through test—while guiding multidisciplinary teams through analysis, manufacturing, and validation. The role includes solving complex propulsion challenges with autonomy under defined policies and program requirements.

You will manage risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver technical scope across advanced hypersonic propulsion programs, with certain postings in Rockledge, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, including stress analysis.
• Skilled in preparing and presenting technical data to customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver the technical scope of the project across analysis, design, manufacturing, validation, and test.
• Apply knowledge of high-speed propulsion and operability principles, fluid dynamics, and aero-thermal mechanical systems to inform decisions.
• Identify technical risks early, lead mitigation plans, manage trade studies, and provide clear recommendations.
• Ensure engineering outputs meet internal procedures, configuration control, and regulatory and airworthiness requirements.
• Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and company standards.
• Perform mechanical and/or electrical engineering work for all products.
• Lead new approaches that improve processes and participate in kaizen efforts.
