Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. You will analyze server telemetry, develop automation tooling, and drive fleet-wide improvements for uptime and efficiency in a hyperscale environment.

The role requires deep data analysis, strong software development skills (Python, Bash, C/C++, PHP), and clear written communication across globally distributed teams. Up to 25% travel will be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 6+ years in production systems engineering or large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux-based production environments and automation tooling.
• Proven ability to communicate designs and decisions in writing.
• Strong background in hardware lifecycle and fleet automation.

Responsibilities

• Identify systemic issues and drive resolutions to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Develop and maintain diagnostic and automation tooling for production servers.
• Define tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Lead escalation processes for fleet health and tooling issues.
• Validate new products for production integration in the data center.
• Collaborate with cross-functional tooling teams on roadmaps.
• Analyze data to prioritize automation opportunities in a heterogeneous fleet.
• Build relationships to improve global data center operations efficiency.
• Mentor engineers on fleet issues and tool improvements.
• Travel up to 25% to support global data center operations.
