Job summary

Ontrac Solutions is seeking a Network Automation & Reliability Engineer to operate and automate hyperscale data center, backbone, and OOB networks. This Python-first role emphasizes writing code over CLI work, building telemetry pipelines and self-healing automation across a global data-center footprint.

The ideal candidate has production-level Python, deep routing and switching knowledge, and hands-on with multiple vendors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated, sustained Python development in a production network or infra environment.
• Production experience with BGP, IS-IS or OSPF, ECMP, and VXLAN/EVPN or MPLS overlays.
• Hands-on operations across at least two vendors (Arista EOS, Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS-XR/NX-OS).
• Automation tooling and config-as-code with templating or REST/Vendor APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain Python tooling for provisioning, validation, and auditing of network devices.
• Build model-driven provisioning libraries using Jinja2 templating with NETCONF/YANG or REST APIs.
• Develop automated remediation for recurring failure classes triggered by telemetry and syslog.
• Reduce operational toil by replacing repetitive runbooks with tested code.
