Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Principal Power Systems Architect to lead the electrical design of next-generation hyperscale AI data centers.

You will own end-to-end electrical architecture from grid interconnection through rack-level power delivery, guiding resilient and scalable solutions for energy-intensive facilities. You'll collaborate with utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and grid operators, defining system specifications for transformers, BESS, and UPS, and mentoring teams to

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
Minimum 15 years of experience in power systems engineering and large-scale infrastructure.
Experience with utility interconnection processes and grid compliance.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical architecture for hyperscale AI data center campuses from grid connection to rack-level power.
Direct multidisciplinary power system studies and ensure alignment across engineering domains.
Develop utility interconnection strategies and support large-load grid integration.
Review and approve key technical studies, designs, and engineering deliverables.
Mentor engineering teams and foster technical excellence across power systems disciplines.
