Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Principal Power Systems Architect to lead the electrical design of next‑generation hyperscale AI data centers in Raleigh, NC. You will own end‑to‑end electrical architecture from grid interconnection through rack‑level distribution and collaborate with utilities, EPCs, and OEMs.

You will guide complex studies, define system specifications, mentor teams, and drive safe, compliant, and scalable power solutions for energy‑intensive facilities that power AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems, grid dynamics, power electronics, or high‑voltage systems.
• 15+ years of experience in power systems engineering and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with utility interconnection processes, grid compliance, and large‑load integration in North America.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical architecture of hyperscale AI data center campuses from grid connection to rack‑level power.
• Direct multidisciplinary power system studies and ensure alignment across engineering domains.
• Develop utility interconnection strategies and support large‑load grid integration initiatives.
• Review and approve key technical studies, designs, and engineering deliverables.
• Define system‑level specifications for transformers, power electronics, BESS, reactive compensation, and UPS solutions.
