Job summary

Fluidstack in Houston is seeking a data center operations engineer with a strong infrastructure background to design, deploy, and maintain power, cooling, and electrical systems at scale, ensuring reliability, security, and cost efficiency while meeting evolving AI workload demands.

You will manage escalations, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, drive site readiness, and implement improvements across hyperscale facilities to support fast-paced AI workloads and global operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations (e.g., TIA-942, ASHRAE)
• Experience with Power Redundancy in design (2N or N+1)
• Understand Cooling Redundancy and Concurrent Maintainability (N+1/N+2)
• Supervision of construction for Data Hall build-out including IT services coordination, power and cooling planning
• Influence testing and commissioning (L1 to L5) to validate design intent and resolve issues
• Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience (generators, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, UPS, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Support DC Operations as SME and handle escalations in data center infrastructure
• Audit and coordinate with colo-cation partners or service providers on maintenance effectiveness
• Manage change management for high-risk maintenance activities in data centers
• Serve as first responder onsite for incidents with SME support
• Provide onsite services and maintain positive relations with customers, partners, vendors and internal teams
