Job summary

V.I. Communications, Inc. (VIC) is expanding into Louisiana data center construction. We seek a Data Center Division Manager who will build partner relationships, convert them into working agreements, and personally deliver the first projects.

This is a player-coach role shaping the data center delivery playbook, driving labor-rate strategy, supervising crews, and upholding VIC's zero-incident safety culture across hyperscale sites in the Gulf Coast.

Qualifications

• Active network among project managers, superintendents, and operations leadership.
• 7+ years in low-voltage / ICT construction; 3+ years data center delivery.
• Deep knowledge of data center structured cabling, fiber, testing, and standards (TIA-942/TIA-606).
• Ability to build and defend labor rates, unit pricing, or T&M structures.
• Experience managing large, schedule-driven construction sites with crews 10–30+.
• OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Willingness to travel regionally across the Gulf Coast for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Build and own relationships with national electrical/ICT contractors on Louisiana data center projects.
• Identify incumbent ICT subcontractors through site intel, postings, networks, and direct presence.
• Complete vendor registrations, prequalifications, and approvals with general contractors and primes.
• Position VIC's SDVOSB status, Louisiana domicile, and zero-incident safety record in bids.
• Pursue informal scopes like temporary site networks, security, and cabinetwork work.
• Represent VIC at regional economic sessions and industry events.
• Develop labor-rate structures and pricing for second-tier work.
• Review subcontract terms and escalate commercial risk to leadership.
• Price data center scopes considering labor density, QA, labeling, and logistics.
• Serve as project manager for initial data center engagements; manage scheduling and documentation.
• Coordinate crew assignments, site supervision, badges, and safety programs.
• Manage project financials: productivity, billing, margins.
• Convert initial engagements into ongoing relationships.
