Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Cloud Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. You will work on hyperscale cloud environments, building automation tooling and data-driven solutions to improve fleet health and uptime.

The role requires deep systems expertise, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate across globally distributed teams. Travel up to 25% is expected to support deployments and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in production systems engineering for large-scale cloud environments.
• 7+ years of experience with hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or cloud data center operations systems.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux-based production environments at scale.
• Experience with the configuration and maintenance of production systems, including web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, and messaging systems.
• Strong written communication and cross-functional stakeholder alignment across engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the cloud server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and cloud automation tooling.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Drive the escalation process to resolve complex cloud tooling and hardware issues.
• Validate and verify new cloud product integrations in production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud tooling teams on open issues and roadmaps.
• Perform data analysis to prioritize automation opportunities for server repair workflows.
• Foster cross-functional relationships to improve global data center operations.
• Mentor engineers on evaluating cloud fleet issues and tooling improvements.
• Travel up to 25% to support global operations.
