Job summary

Munson Healthcare Careers is seeking a Hyperbaric Technician to operate and monitor the hyperbaric chamber and related systems in Manistee and Traverse City. You will work under physician direction to deliver approved hyperbaric treatments and support patient care.

Responsibilities include coordinating with referral sources to obtain eligibility information and ensuring follow-up is communicated. You will join a close-knit clinic team and contribute to day-to-day operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Certification as hyperbaric technician preferred; eligible candidates from related fields will be considered.
• Must complete or be eligible for NBDHMT course and pass the certification exam within the specified period.

Job Description

A Day in the Life

• The work you do will make a difference! Under the direction of a physician, you will perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy on approved patients. You will operate and monitor the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support systems while patients are receiving treatment.
• You will work with clerical support to contact referral sources to obtain needed information to determine a patient’s eligibility for the service. You will assist in ensuring that follow‑up information is sent to the referral source.
• You will be part of a supportive team. Our clinics are close‑knit teams that encourage each other every day. You will assist with day‑to‑day operations as required for optimal patient care, which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Hyperbaric Technician preferred, but LPN, RN, Respiratory Therapist, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or relevant diving industry experience will also be considered. Must have completed or be eligible to complete a course offered by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) and successfully complete the certification exam within a specified period of time.
