Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center in Minnesota is seeking a responsible Hyperbaric Medicine Support professional to administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed. You will safely operate the hyperbaric chamber, monitor patients, and reinforce patient education while maintaining accurate medical records.

Qualifications include a practical nursing background or equivalent, MN nursing licensure or EMT/paramedic certification, and BLS. Hyperbaric medicine coursework within a year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or equivalent.
• Current Minnesota nursing license or EMT/paramedic certification as required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Completion of a hyperbaric medicine course (NBDHMT/UHMS) within one year.

Responsibilities

Job description

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the hyperbaric leadership. Responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber and related support systems as well as the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.

Job Functions

1. Assists in the patient preparation for treatment.
2. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and associated systems and equipment.
3. Monitors patients in the chamber.
4. Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
5. Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
6. Coordinates departmental safety-related standards as required by licensing and regulatory agencies.
7. Maintains all facility safety-related standards as required by licensing and regulatory agencies.
8. Assists Clinical Supervisor with agency regulatory and accreditation compliance.
9. Backs-up Clinical Support I as needed.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

License/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing OR
• Current state of MN and National Registry of EMT certification OR
• Current state of MN Paramedic Certification
• BLS Certification
• Completion of NBDHMT or UHMS-recognized industry hyperbaric medicine course and certification within one year of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years of previous healthcare experience
