Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Casual Hyperbaric Tech to safely operate the hyperbaric chamber(s) and deliver prescribed oxygen therapy, while monitoring patient responses and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

The role requires current licenses in respiratory therapy or related fields, BCLS within 1 month, and completion of an introductory hyperbaric medicine course within 6 months of hire. Expect on-call weekends and weekday shifts.

Qualifications

• Current and maintained healthcare professional certification or license as Respiratory Therapist, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or Hyperbaric Specialist.
• BCLS certified within 1 month of hire or transfer.
• Complete approved hyperbaric medicine introductory training within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Operate hyperbaric chambers and related support systems safely and effectively.
• Provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed; monitor patient responses and adjust as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with patient, physician, and team about changes in clinical condition.

Essentia is looking for a Casual Hyperbaric Tech to provide oxygen therapy to our patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider.

Education Qualifications:

This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient. Administers the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as prescribed to the patient; monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’ responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safety and effective use of the equipment. Maintains open lines of communication with the patient, physician, and co-workers about changes in a patient's clinical condition.

The hours for the workday M-F are 0600 - 1400 or 0800 - 1600. The 4th weekend of the month you will be on call.On-call Weekends Starts at 1600 Friday until 0600 on Monday.
