Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Field Engineer to support critical infrastructure in AWS data centers within Oregon. You will lead engineering analyses, craft controls logic, and oversee pilots from initiation to broader rollout, collaborating across data center operations, design engineering, and Controls teams.

You will apply expertise in BMS/BAS/SCADA, PLCs, and data-driven troubleshooting to improve capacity, availability, and efficiency across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of controls experience in data centers, power generation, or related facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation from start date.
• Hands-on experience with BMS/BAS/SCADA and PLCs.
• Experience with controls coding and standardization.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-event analysis for controls incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain controls logic and templates for equipment.
• Own engineering lifecycle for pilots from review to rollout.
• Serve as technical escalation contact and perform site investigations.
• Support proprietary and third-party controls products with bug fixes.
• Build baselines, alarms, and engineering playbooks for reliability.
• Develop system-health metrics to improve reliability and standardization.
• Collaborate with operations, commissioning, and Controls teams to resolve issues.
