We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Hygiene Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support hygiene and sanitation efforts, ensure cleanliness standards are met, and assist with related tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for staff and clients.

The Hygiene Assistant is responsible for assisting the hygienist in clinical and administrative duties, including:

1. Prepare patients for procedures or exams
2. Sterilize and disinfect instruments
3. Set up instrument trays
4. Prepare materials and assist during dental procedures

Additional responsibilities include:

• Assist the hygienist with all dental hygiene procedures as needed, including taking directions from the doctor or hygienist, performing patient oral evaluations, taking accurate and high-quality X-rays, and various laboratory duties
• Assist with routine cleaning and sanitizing of work areas and equipment
• Follow hygiene and infection control protocols
• Prepare and restock hygiene supplies
• Support team with setting up and maintaining hygienic workspaces
• Dispose of waste according to established safety standards
• Charting and documentation of treatment information in patient charts
• Sterilization and disinfecting of dental instruments
• Perform accelerated hygiene with Hygienist and Doctor when applicable
• Report hygiene or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines
• Adhere to safety guidelines/procedures per OSHA and practice standards
• Chairside assisting with Doctor as needed
• Scheduling appointments
• Maintain required certifications (dental assistant certification, X-ray certification)
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training
• Use relevant dental software

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with relevant dental software is preferred.
