Job summary

Telecon is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to join our Civil Construction Team in Portland, Oregon. You will operate a Hydrovac truck, transport equipment, and assist with installation tasks to support our project crew.

This full-time role offers weekly pay, competitive benefits, and 401(k) matching. Under the site supervisor, you will perform routine maintenance, log daily vehicle inspections, and comply with DOT rules.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience operating a Hydrovac truck.
• A valid CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Fully trained in operation and maintenance of the truck and field troubleshooting.
• Comfortable around underground utility services.
• Must provide a clean driving record and pass DOT drug/alcohol tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Hydrovac truck and perform routine vehicle maintenance.

Job description

Telecon is looking for a Hydrovac Operator to join our growing Civil Construction Team operating a Super Vac. This role is based out of our yard in Portland, Orgeon and surrounding area.

Working under the site supervisor, the Hydrovac Operator will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the project construction team. They will also be responsible for driving various types of vehicles and trucks to transport equipment to project sites.

This is a full-time position which includes weekly pay, Benefits, 401K matching as well as opportunities for growth!

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

• Operate the Hydrovac truck while also maintaining the vehicle
• Transport cargo and/or equipment in a safe manner
• Complete the daily maintenance programs as per equipment specifications
• Use various equipment to move and install material according to project plans
• Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• At least 2 years of experience operating a Hydrovac truck, preferably for a fiber or utilities company
• A valid CDL with tnaker endorsement
• Fully trained in the operations and maintenance of the truck and comfortable trouble shooting and minor repairs in the field
• Comfortable around underground utility services
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and have no prior positive drug or alcohol tests, meeting all DOT requirements
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Familiarity with DOT requirements
