Job summary

The Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin, TX is seeking a Hydrologist to join the River Operations Center. You will work with engineers and hydrologists to manage water resources during droughts and floods, applying your strong background in hydrology and river systems to protect Texans.

You’ll model flows, analyze data, and communicate complex information to internal and external customers, helping make informed water control decisions.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in hydrology.
• Degree in hydrology, water resources, or related field; substitutions may apply.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily water supply calculations using RiverWare and Excel models to schedule releases.
• Run and analyze data for internal and external customers.
• Support flood operations by monitoring weather and Hydromet gauges to assist in release decisions.
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external customers to answer questions or provide knowledge and expertise on water supply, flood conditions and water control decisions.
