Job summary

Stantec is seeking an intermediate-level Civil/Hydrologic and Hydraulic Engineer to join its hydropower and dams group in Southern California (Pasadena, Irvine, or San Diego). The role involves analyses, modeling, design, and construction support for dam and hydro projects, with opportunities for mentoring and career growth.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on feasibility studies, detailed design, and project delivery, with a hybrid schedule and occasional travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; PE license or eligibility within 1 year preferred.
• 5–10 years of civil/hydrologic and hydraulics experience; dams experience a plus.
• California Professional Engineer license or eligibility within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses for dam, hydroelectric, and energy projects.
• Model hydrology/hydraulics using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, LifeSim, FLO2D.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Provide construction support and QA/QC.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
