Job summary

Stantec's Global Mining team in Chandler, AZ seeks a Hydrogeology Intern to support underground and surface mining projects, groundwater and water balance modeling, and field studies. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to client projects that advance water resources engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Geology/Geoscience degree with interest in hydrogeology.
• Experience with data collection in field settings is a plus.
• Comfort working in a team on multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multi-discipline hydrogeology, hydrology, and engineering team on a day-to-day basis.
• Participate in team meetings and project meetings.
• Actively engage with project managers and project technical leads to complete tasks.
• Contribute to development of hydrogeologic conceptual and numerical groundwater models with supervision.
• Contribute to the development and application of site-wide water balance models with supervision.
• Organize and pre-process climate, hydrology, hydrogeology, and operational data for model inputs.
• Develop model inputs, assumptions, and flow pathways; review outputs and QA analyses.
• Collect and analyze field data including well installation and pumping test data.
