Job summary

Stantec invites energetic students to join our Global Mining team as a Hydrogeology Intern based in Fort Collins or Denver, CO. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on hydrogeology projects related to underground and surface mining operations, groundwater modeling, and field studies.

We expect pursuing a Bachelor's in Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related field, with strong reporting and teamwork skills. Familiarity with MODFLOW and ArcGIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or related degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related scientific or engineering discipline.
• Technical/reporting, presentation, and teamwork skills expected.
• Familiarity with MODFLOW, ArcGIS, Aqtesolv, or Aquifer Test Pro is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary hydrogeology, hydrology, and engineering team daily.
• Attend team and project meetings.
• Work with project managers and technical leads to complete tasks.
• Develop hydrogeologic conceptual and numerical groundwater models with supervision.
• Pre- and post-processing of model inputs and results.
• Evaluate model calibration performance and sensitivity.
• Collect and analyze field data including well installation and drilling data.
• Perform pumping test analysis and well sampling.
• Assist in preparing technical documents and drawings.
• Present a technical report or project-specific presentation to the team.
