Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Brooksville, FL is recruiting for a Well Driller Assistant/Well Driller, a field-based role requiring physical labor and a CDL within one year. You’ll operate drilling rigs, collect hydrogeologic data, and support well construction while adhering to district safety and regulatory standards.

The position typically runs 40 hours per week with potential overtime and extensive travel within the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or Vocational degree.
• Ability to obtain a valid Class A CDL within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CME-85 and UDR-200 drilling rigs as assigned.
• Assist drillers in collecting lithologic, hydraulic, and water quality data.
• Monitor well construction and oversee contractors per District rules.
• Maintain records of equipment, supplies and vendor accounts.
• Transport drill rods, pumps, and related materials to worksites.
