Job summary

Action Environmental in Tampa, FL seeks a Drillers Assistant who will support drilling and geoprobe operations on job sites. The role emphasizes soil and groundwater sampling, well installation, and safe, accurate field work.

You will travel to sites across Florida and the southeast, maintain logs, assist engineers and geologists, and help ensure compliance with OSHA/ENV standards. A valid driver's license and ability to pass screenings are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years on a drilling crew, geoprobe experience preferred.
• Experience with soil and groundwater sampling.
• Proficient in drilling and setting wells with HSA; MC-5 and SP-16 sampling.
• Safety-conscious work ethic and ability to travel occasionally.
• Valid Class A or B driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes and collect soil/ groundwater samples.
• Set wells and perform soil/ groundwater sampling per MC-5 and SP-16.
• Travel to remote locations across Florida and the southeast USA.
• Maintain accurate drill logs and ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Work with engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists on site.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards; complete paperwork.
