Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Hydrogeologist to join our Water Team in central Virginia. You will contribute to groundwater supply development, monitoring, and permitting, and work on aquifer testing, modeling, and water management planning.

Ideal candidates have a geology degree and 5+ years in a consulting environment with hydrogeologic data analysis; GIT certification is preferred. Travel to field sites will be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience with water supply hydrogeological work including aquifer testing, withdrawal permitting, well drilling and construction, and data analysis/reporting.
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
• GIT certification preferred or working toward GIT.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Program.
• Develop well drilling, construction, and testing specifications for contractors.
• Oversee and log drilling and construction of new water supply wells.
• Monitor water levels on-site and remotely in client wellfields and respond quickly to changing conditions.
• Coordinate and interpret geophysical data for groundwater exploration.
• Develop groundwater withdrawal permit applications.
• Develop water conservation and management plans.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations summarizing project work.
