Smithfield Foods, Inc. is hiring a Hydrogenator Operator for the 3rd shift (Mon - Fri, 10:30pm - 7am) at the Cudahy, WI site. The role starts up the hydrogenation plant, manages materials, and conducts process control tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

The position requires attention to safety, the ability to work with teams, and adherence to quality and logkeeping procedures to ensure efficient production and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Respectful, approachable and team oriented while building positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Start up Hydrogenation Plant as per posted instructions.
• Fill out Hydrogenation Log and related paperwork.
• Supply hydrogen at proper pressure to the converter.
• Pump fats/oils into converter and catalyst mixing tank.
• Take samples to laboratory for analysis.
• Add catalyst, filter aid and bleach to fat or oil after pumping.
• Heat fat/oil in converter and draw vacuum.
• Hydrogenate at proper temperatures and pressures.
• Cool product and perform filtration steps.
• Close down Hydrogenation Plant as per posted instructions.
• Move product from tanks to storage or trucks as needed.
• Follow cleaning tasks as per planner.
