Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Wisconsin is seeking a Hydrogenation Plant Operator to join our production team. You will start up the hydrogenation line, monitor pressures, manage logs, and ensure safe, efficient operation of the process.

You’ll handle fats and oils, sample materials, and support clean-down procedures as required. We offer competitive hourly wages starting at $25.65/hour with a $1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift, plus comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits, and

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work well in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Start up Hydrogenation Plant per posted instructions.
• Fill out Hydrogenation Log and related paperwork.
• Supply hydrogen at proper pressure to the converter.
• Pump fats and oils into converter and catalyst mixing tank.
• Take samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Heat fat or oil in converter and control temperatures.
• Perform filtration and handling steps to ensure product quality.
• Close down Hydrogenation Plant per posted instructions.
• Assist with transfers to storage tanks and inspections.
• Adhere to cleaning tasks per the Department Cleaning Planner.
